About Us

The New Zealand Medical Assistance Team (NZMAT) is a civilian-based emergency medical team that can be deployed to support local health services in a major emergency or disaster in New Zealand or the South-West Pacific. The team includes doctors, nurses, logisticians and allied health staff such as pharmacist, physiotherapists, public health staff and paramedics.

Volunteering for NZMAT

Registrations for the New Zealand Medical Assistance Team are invited from clinicians and supporting staff working in pre-hospital, primary, secondary and tertiary care settings within New Zealand. Registering now will enable you to be considered for future training.
